Students at Clayton Hall Academy in North Staffordshire Celebrate a Strong Set of GCSE Results

Students at Clayton Hall Academy are celebrating today after receiving the school’s strongest ever set of results. 

After much hard work studying and preparing, students at the school, which is part of Windsor Academy Trust, are collecting a set of strong GCSE results and getting ready to take their next steps in their educational journey.

An impressive 75% of students achieved a pass (grade 4 or higher) in English. In Maths, the success continued with a 70% pass rate (grade 4 or higher).  Just under half of all pupils achieved a grade 5 or higher in both mathematics and English together and overall attainment 8 figures sit at 4.6 which is above national average.

We saw exceptional performance across a range of subjects including History, Computer Science, RE and Separate Sciences.  In technical and vocational courses, students did especially well in Performing Arts, Construction and Engineering.

Clayton Hall Academy students are now looking forward to progressing onto their chosen further education institutions. 

While all students have done incredibly well, there are some standout individual achievements. These include:

  • Giacomo Roberts who received seven Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s. 

  • Vanessa Oghuvwu who received five Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and a Grade 6

  • Jake Harford who received three Grade 9s, 5 Grade 8s and a Grade 6

Collecting GCSE results today, Giacomo said:
“I’m really proud! Clayton has been a great school with great staff that go above and beyond.”

Victoria added:

“I didn’t sleep last night but I am so happy with my results, so so happy!’

Caty Reid, Headteacher at Clayton Hall Academy, said: “This morning has been joyful. I couldn’t be prouder of all of the students, families and staff who have worked together to support our young people to be the best that they can be. These are the best results Clayton has achieved in over ten years. Super proud!”
