Options

Our curriculum is designed to inspire ambition, celebrate individual strengths, and open doors to the widest possible range of opportunities. The options process allows students to shape a pathway that reflects their interests, talents, and aspirations for the years ahead. 

What’s Included in the Preferences Overview 
Your child has been sent an Options Student Sheet which outlines the four preference blocks - A, B, C and D. Each block contains a range of engaging and diverse subjects, including: 

  • Creative and performing disciplines such as Art, Music, Photography and Performing Arts. 

  • Academic subjects including History, Geography, French, Spanish, Triple Science and Computer Science. 

  • Vocational and skills focused qualifications, such as Construction, Engineering, Business Studies, Hospitality & Catering and PE.focused courses such as Construction, Engineering, Business Studies, Hospitality & Catering, and PE qualifications 

Students will be asked to select: 

  • One first-choice subject in each preference block  

  • Two reserve choices for each block (If a first preference is unable to be assigned, we will look to assign a reserve subject in the order they appear on the sheet)  

All students must choose History, Geography, or Religious Education in at least one of their first-choice selections. 

Students will study a total of 9 GCSE’s- English Literature, English Language, Maths, Dual Science (2 GCSE’s) and 4 preference qualifications (A, B, C & D).
